Definitely food for thought and for the soul.

I will admit I've only heard portions of the 'reverend's' sermons but I did visit the church's website (before they switched it up some - Why did they have to change it if it contained only truth?) I've also heard his sermon to the press.

All I could see on the original website was black socialism (Negritude is the name for it). I saw little, if any of the Jesus I know.

He missed an excellent opportunity before the press to preach Jesus crucified and resurrected. Instead he preached social issues without speaking of God's grace and mercy.

Unless I missed something along the way...

Social Christians are nice (usually) and I know quite a few enjoy distributing other peoples property through over-taxation but personally I would not compare them to any of the Old (or new) Testament prophets. The prophets demanded that people change their hearts not for governments to take change from peoples pockets.prying1https://www.blogger.com/profile/04709268799890083117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734846.post-89452331801610881132008-05-28T20:41:00.000-05:002008-05-28T20:41:00.000-05:00Phil,Writing about political events is something ...Phil,

Writing about political events is something I'm not particularly good at, mostly because I have a hard time grasping what the real issues are. And that is why I come to you. A "message of reconciliation" is sorely needed these days, especially in light of the divisiveness that has been created by both political parties.
Scot

P.S.
